2026-02-27 2048 Johnathon's interview with Axel Honneth
Today I watched the interview of Johnathon and Axel Honneth about reputation. Honestly speaking, I wasted half of afternoon with nothing left in my brain. But one point which is kinda off-topic appeared at the end was pretty impressive for me: Axel mentioned he tries to argue in favor of something like Market Socialism. This idea shocked my mind cause I used to believe Market and Government are somewhat opposite. And neither any one of them dominate the resource rearrangement will cause chaotic in the end.
Axel points out that Market Socialism is not only highly regulated markets, but the participants of market are more collective actors than individuals. The framework of market socialism ingeniously neutralizes both the nearsightedness of the market and the centralization of government.
Also, I'm glad to see Axel believes we are almost at the end of history. I also believe the final society ideology do exist and we are pretty close to that point.
